Jason MacDonald, is an entertainer with a passion for writing songs. From the moment he started strumming his guitar he was compelled to create music. Surrounded by Cape Breton Island’s culture and breathtaking scenery, Jason has created acoustic driven songs that speak to the hearts of his listeners. His energy, storytelling and warm personality creates a connection with his audiences.
Jason released his debut CD in 2002 and a second CD in 2005.The releases were recorded at award winning Lakewind Sound Studio. Both recordings received award nominations and provided opportunities to perform at Nova Scotia Music Week, East Coast Music Awards and Canadian Country Music Wards.
In 2008, he received an honorable mention in the Independent Singer -Songwriters Assoc. (ISSA) Song contest. In 2009 Jason also received Top Honors for one of his songs in the Indie International Songwriters Contest. In January 2009 Jason began his 2nd season as host of Meet The Music, a show introducing emerging and established songwriters to an ever-growing audience of listeners. The show airs Saturday nights at 7:00 on (CKOA) The Coast 89.7 FM and online at www.coastalradio.ca.

Radio Releases:
The first single entitled "To Get To Know You" from Jason's second CD " The Day" was released to radio in summer 2005. His second single "Angelina" was released in spring 2006. Both songs found themselves on radio air waves.
